What is frederick dale bruner?

Frederick Dale Bruner (1931-2020) was a prominent American theologian and author. He was born in Orange, New Jersey, and grew up in rural Indiana. He graduated from Wheaton College and later earned his Ph.D. from Duke University, where he studied under theologian Paul Tillich.

Bruner taught at several theological institutions, including Whitworth University and Fuller Theological Seminary, before becoming the George and Lyda Wasson Professor Emeritus of Religion at Whitworth University. He was also a visiting professor at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Bruner was known for his work in the field of biblical studies, particularly in the areas of the Gospel of Matthew and the Sermon on the Mount. He authored several books, including "A Theology of the Holy Spirit," "The Gospel of John: A Commentary," and "Matthew: A Commentary."
